Henrico, NC - Pamela Justis Jones of River Road, Henrico, NC died Friday, November 2, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Pam was a US Postal Services employee. Survivors include her mother Elizabeth G. Brown and step father Richard Brown. Her sons, Carlos Lamond Jones and Jamel Lee Jones. Her sister Kim Jones. Her nephew, Jeremy Jones and her niece Brittany Jones. Also three special friends, Carl Jackson, Ethel Jackson, Aline Jackson and Jerlene Rameau. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Gaston Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Flood officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Roanoke Rapids, NC - Tammy Manning Grant, age 43 of Roanoke Rapids Passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Greenville, NC. Tammy was born March 23, 1969 in Roanoke Rapids. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and a friend who will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband David Grant, her sons, Carroll Beckelman and Dylan Grant, all of the home. Her parents, Frank and Judy Manning of Gaston, NC. Her sister, Cheryl Melvin and her husband Mike. Her nephews Dusty Barnes and Jared Melvin, her sister-in-law Janice Huller and husband Ed, father-in-law Will Grant, mother-in-law Doris Smith and many aunts, uncles cousins and friends. Lewiston - Woodville, NC - Glenwood Earl Bazemore, Sr. ,84, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Mr. Bazemore was born April 28, 1928 in Bertie County, NC to the late Thomas Bunch and Mary Elizabeth Conner Bazemore. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Bazemore, his daughter Mary Elizabeth Gilroy, his sons Glenwood Earl Bazemore, Jr. and Danny Gray Bazemore and his half sister Janice B. Miller and was the Owner of Glenwood Bazemore Floor Finishing for 50+ and served his country during World War II in the US Navy. Surviving are his daughters Joyce B. Wilson and husband Lee of White Plains, MD and Cynthia Garner, of Goldsboro, NC and his son James Lewis Bazemore of Winchester, VA. Also surviving him are his 47 grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday November 9, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC. Conway, NC - Mrs. Mary Lucy Martin Garriss, age 86 of Conway, NC passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Garriss was born November 25, 1925 in Northampton County, NC the daughter of the late Craven Martin and Emma Barnes Martin.  She was also predeceased by her husband Basil Garriss. Mrs. Garriss was a member of Conway United Methodist Church where she had served as President of The Woman’s Society of Christian Services, Chairman of Board of Trustees, a member of L.V. Harris Sunday School Class and a member of the Chancel Choir. Mrs. Garriss loved to sew, work in her yard and had a great love of horses.  She had worked for H.L. Evans and Son in Murfreesboro, NC, Severn Peanut Company in Severn, NC  and Terra Sales in Conway, NC. She is survived by her sons, Larry Garriss of Halifax, NC and Craig Garriss and his wife Karen of Kitty Hawk, NC;  her sister, Shirley M. Gay and her husband Lynmore of Conway, NC; her sister-in-law, Sue Garris of Severn, NC; her grandchildren, Shelley Garriss, Todd Garriss, Holly Garriss and Samantha Garriss;  her nieces, Debbie Burke, Darlene Draper, Marie Forney, Roslyn “Roz” Gay and a nephew, Jason Gay.  Several great nieces and nephews and her special companion “Tiki”. Graveside services will be held, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Conway Cemetery with Rev. Robert Hill officiating. Murfreesboro, NC -  Roy Chestine Futrell, 74, died Monday, November 12, 2012. Mr. Futrell was born March 25, 1939 in Northampton County, NC to the late Kelly C.  and Margaret Mann Futrell. Mr. Futrell was a member of Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Futrell was preceded in death by his son Roy Chestine Futrell, Jr. and a brother Kelly C. Futrell, Jr. Surviving include his daughters Tina Futrell Ashley of Winton, NC, Terry Futrell Bridgers of Clayton, NC; his brothers Larry Wilson Futrell and wife Earline, Robert Mann Futrell and wife Diane both of Murfreesboro; his sisters Becky Futrell Edwards and husband Rudy of Murfreesboro, Susie Futrell, and his former wife Alma Futrell of Winton, NC. Also surviving are his grandchildren Kristen, Lindsey, McCrae, Justin, Tyler, Kasey, Matthew, Brandon, and Cameron and great grandchildren Reid, Lexi and Audrey. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 4:30 PM at Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Ross officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Annie Bennett Gay Long, 85, left this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Duke Hospital.  She was the daughter of Carter and Ada Gay of Seaboard, NC.  Trained as a registered nurse specializing in psychiatric patients, she came to Butner in 1967 to work for John Umstead Hospital.  She retired after 30 years of service to the State of North Carolina.  Annie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Butner. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Marvin C. Long of Butner; one daughter, Anne Gay and son-in-law, Joseph M. Crews; a grandson, J. Matthew Crews all of Creedmoor and her Boston Terrier, Mattie Cee of Butner. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Seaboard Cemetery in Seaboard, NC. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Annie’s memory to a charity of your choosing. Visitation will be held Friday evening, November 16, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and other times at the home. Aulander, NC- Mrs. Louise Davidson Parker, age 80 of Aulander, NC died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC. Mrs. Parker was born October 1, 1932 in Bertie County, NC, the daughter of the late Orbin Davidson and Bettie Parker Davidson. She was predeceased by her husband Roy W. Parker.  She was a member of Connaritsa Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Roy "Brent" Parker of Aulander, NC, Cynthia Parker Swain and her husband Cullen of Goldsboro, NC and Timothy W. Parker and his wife Kim of Williamston, NC, three grandsons, Dustin Swain, Will Parker and Drew Parker, and one great granddaughter, Presleigh Erin Swain. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Connaritsa Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Aulander Cemetery. Scotland Neck, NC - Mr. Edward Kinston Aycock Jr. age 100 died Wednesday, November 22, 2012 at Kindred Health and Rehab in Scotland Neck, NC.   Mr. Aycock was born October 22, 1912 in Halifax County, NC, the son of the late Edward K. Aycock Sr. and Metha Aycock. He was also preceded in death by his wife Patricia Faulkner Aycock. Services will be planned at a later date. Jackson, NC - Mr. Jeffrey Vinson Sumner, age 51 of Jackson, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at his home. Jeff was born March 14, 1961 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. He was predeceased by his father L.S. “Tug” Sumner and a niece Ashley Rose Pate. He worked the Department of Correction for ten and one half years. He loved to fish and hunt. He is survived by his wife, Katie Pate Sumner, his son Charles Lonnie Sumner, his mother Betsy Vinson Sumner Carlisle, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Selma Pate, his brother-in-law Edward Pate and his wife Tracy, and his nephew, Brandon Henry Pate. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson, NC. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery. Roanoke Rapids, NC - Rev. Donald Howard Outland, age 86 of Roanoke Rapids, NC died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at his home. Rev. Outland was born April 2, 1926 in Northampton County, NC and is the son of the late William Joseph Outland and Laura Jane Smith Outland. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Outland Bray. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Army. He was a minister of the gospel for many years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Johanna Hildegard Outland, his daughter Paula Paddock and her husband Keith of Triangle, VA, his son-in-law Jim Bray, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. John Bray officiating. Cofield, NC – Michael Daniel Fedock, age 35 of Cofield, NC, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Michael was born January 31, 1977 in Hertford County, NC. He was employed with Tennessee Steel Haulers and worked part time with the Ahoskie Police Department. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Norfolk, VA for 12 years.   Michael attended the Carpenter Shop Church in Ahoskie and loved to ride motorcycles and build big trucks. He was devoted to his family and his sons, loved to cook, and always wanted to help people. Michael is survived by his wife Crystal Eure Fedock, and his two sons, Scott Austin Fedock and Ryan Michael Fedock, his parents, Frank and Jewel Dilday Fedock, his grandfather, Linwood Bazemore, his grandmother, Ruby P. Fedock, and many friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at The Carpenter Shop Church in Ahoskie, NC with Rev. Wallace Phillips officiating. Mrs. Pierce was born April 23, 1935 in Capron, VA, the daughter of the late Henry Harrup and Frances Pulley Harrup. She was a member of Good Samaritan Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband John Franklin Pierce, her daughter, Kathryn Faye Rhodes and her husband Donald of Roanoke Rapids, her son, William Owens Grant of Roanoke Rapids, her brother, James Harrup of Valentines, VA, five grandchildren, Janice Marie Grant, David Owen Grant, Michael Thomas Rhodes, Crystal Michelle Walker and Candice Nicole Rhodes, and four great grandchildren, Alexis Rhodes, Michel Thomas Rhodes Jr., Gabril Matthew Dustin and Dylan Grant. Hobgood, NC - Mr. Anthony Lawrence “Tony” Rooker, age 48, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home. Tony was born March 16, 1964 in Pensacola, Florida. He retired from the US Air Force and the worked as a maintenance supervisor for Safelite in Enfield, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Coleman Rooker and his wife Debra Jones Rooker. He is survived by his children, Eric Rooker and Michael Rooker of Manhattan, Kansas, Shelby Rooker and Shane Rooker, both of Hampton, VA and Hannah Rooker of Scotland Neck, NC, his mother, Iva Throckmorton Rooker of Norlina, his sister, Sheila Darnell and her husband Earl of Norlina, NC and a grandson, Braylon Rooker. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Garner Baptist Church Cemetery in Macon, NC with Rev. Rick Barnes officiating. Woodland, NC - Mr. Roger William “Red” Outland, age 83 of Woodland, NC died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jackson, NC. Mr. Outland was born October 2, 1929 in Northampton County, NC, the son of the late Russell Edward Outland and Elsie Mae White Outland. Mr. Outland spent 14 years with the National Guard. He then worked for many years in the peanut business. He loved to play music and had a great talent for playing many instruments. He also loved to dance. He is survived by his wife Janet Collier Outland, his children, William Outland and his wife JoAnn, Shiela Crowder and her husband Danny and Kim Outland, his brother, Edward “Big Boy” Outland and a sister Gladys Outland Powell, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rick Barnes officiating.
